We are taught to say please and thank you at a young age. You probably remember telling your child to mind their Ps and Qs. (Or remember being told this yourself!) but the Bible provides deeper meaning behind these actions. Scripture reminds us " in everything give thanks " (1 Thessalonians 5:18), recognizing God's goodness and mercy that endure forever (Psalm 107:1). Our gratitude is not just in words but in how we live—through giving, prayer, and loving others. Today, let’s remember to express thanks to God not only with our lips but in everything we do. And as we embrace this, let’s encourage our kids, friends, and family to do the same—helping them understand the true "how" and "why" behind gratitude, so that it becomes a part of who they are, not just something they say.
Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever! - Psalm 107:1
And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. - Colossian 3:17
